STATE LIQUOR AUTHORITY UNDERAGE DRINKING DETAIL NETS 3 SALES TO MINORS IN CATTARAUGUS COUNTY
SLA Continuing Efforts to Combat Underage Drinking
The New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) today announced the results of an underage sting operation conducted on February 2, 2019 in Cattaraugus County. SLA investigators, working with underage agents, conducted an underage-drinking sting operation visiting 10 businesses. In total, the undercover minor was able to purchase alcohol at 3 of the 10 businesses visited.
The businesses selling to minors were:

200 Clinton Street, Salamanca - Central Lanes/Crist Restaurant
189 191 Central Avenue, Salamanca
The businesses refusing to sell to minors were:
- 7 Eleven Store # 35097
55 S. Main Street, Portville - 7 Eleven Store # 35201
131 W. State Street, Olean - 3rd Base Bar & Grill
1302 W. State Street, Olean - Allen’s Wine & Liquor Store
1411 W. State Street, Olean - On the Side Liquor
2828 W. State Street, Olean - The Brickhouse Bar & Grill
181 W. Main Street, Allegany - Wildwood Bar & Saloon
53 Wildwood Ave, Salamanca
Licensees charged with underage sales face civil penalties of up to $10,000 per violation, with fines starting at $2,500 for a first-time offense. Repeat offenders also face possible suspension or revocation of their licenses. In addition, employees or licensees who sell to minors can be arrested and charged with a misdemeanor. Undercover decoys work under the direct supervision of SLA Beverage Control Investigators.
